Warning: A Schrader valve prevents refrigerant loss during pressure cycling switch replacement. Wear protective eyewear when removing the switch as a precaution, however. Note: The pressure cycling switch threaded into a fitting on the compressor-to-condenser discharge line at the right side of the engine compartment, next to the battery box.

To remove the air conditioning pressure cycling switch, unplug the electrical connector and unscrew the switch from the refrigerant line

1. Unplug the electrical connector from the pressure cycling switch

Caution: Hold the boss on the refrigerant line with a wrench when unscrewing the switch to prevent damage to the refrigerant line.

2. Unscrew the pressure cycling switch from the refrigerant line.

3. Lubricate the switch 0-ring with clean refrigerant oil of the correct type.

4. Screw the new switch onto the refrigerant line fitting until hand tight, then tighten it securely.

5. Reconnect the electrical connector.
