Transmission auxiliary fluid pump — replacement Ford F150
Note: Vehicles with auto stop/start are equipped with an auxiliary fluid pump. On 6-speed transmissions, the pump is located on the right (passenger) side of the transmission. On 10-speed transmissions, the pump is located inside of the transmission. The following procedure covers removal and installation or pumps on 6-speed transmissions only.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on jackstands.
2. Remove the transmission under cover and skid plate, if equipped.
Disconnect the AUX pump connector
3. Disconnect the auxiliary fluid pump connector .
4. Heat the three Torx bolts using a heat gun to soften the thread sealant.
5. Place a drain pan under the pump to catch any fluid.
6. Remove the bolts and the auxiliary pump.
7. Remove and discard the gasket.
8. Installation is reverse of removal. Use a new gasket and torque the bolts to the torque listed in this Chapter’s Specifications.
9. Check the automatic transmission fluid, adding as necessary (see Tune-up and routine maintenance).
