Bumpers — removal and installation Ford F150
Front bumper
1. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Apply the parking brake. Remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the splash shield and skid plate from under the vehicle, if equipped.
3. Remove the inner fender splash shields (see illustration 14.2).
4. Remove the radiator grille (see Radiator grille and headlight housing trim – removal and installation).
5. Remove the air deflector push-pins along the top-inner edge of the bumper (see illustration).

6. From under the vehicle, remove the front bumper nuts (see illustration).

7. From under the vehicle, remove the bumper outer support rod bolts (if equipped).
8. Using a trim tool, pry the bumper trim panel out of the front bumper (see illustra tion).

9. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the cruise control module from the bumper, if equipped with adaptive cruise control.
10. With an assistant supporting the bumper, remove the nuts retaining the bumper (see illustration).

11. Lift the bumper away from the frame.
12. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Rear bumper
13. If necessary, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands.
14. Remove the harness ground wire bolt and harness retainer from the frame, then swing it over the frame rail (see illus tration).

15. Disconnect the rear bumper wiring harness electrical connector (see illus tration). Make sure the wiring harness is free and won’t get caught when lifting away the bumper.

16. With an assistant supporting the bumper, remove the nuts retaining the bumper to the frame, then remove the bumper (see illustration).
Remove the nuts, then lift away the rear bumper (left side shown, right side identical)
Note: On some models, it may be necessary to lower the rear exhaust pipe down to create enough clearance room for the bumper to be removed.
17. Installation is the reverse of removal.
