Front fender — removal and installation Ford F150

1. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands and remove the front wheel.

2. Remove the fasteners retaining the fender inner splash shield (see illustration). Also detach the wiring harness clips from the splash shield, noting their locations to ensure correct installation.

3. Remove the headlight housing (see Chassis electrical system).

4. Remove the fender-to-rocker panel trim panel and bolts (see illustrations).

.4b…then remove the two lower mounting bolts at the rear of the wheel opening

5. Remove the fender inner fastener (see illustration).

6. Remove the fender-to-cowl bolt and the fender-to-door pillar bolt (see illustration). Note: It will be necessary to lift the corner of the cowl panel up to access the fender-to-cowl bolt.

7. Remove the fender front fastener (see illustration).

8. Remove the fender upper fasteners (see illustration).

9. Using a razor knife, cut the body sealer between the inner fender and the body (this is the same sealer surrounding the bolt in illustration .5).

10. Detach the fender. It’s a good idea to have an assistant support the fender while it’s being moved away from the vehicle to prevent damage to the surrounding body panels or paint. If you’re removing the right-side fender, disconnect the antenna electrical connector (see Chassis electrical system).

11. Installation is the reverse of removal. Some components (such as the antenna or foam baffle) may need to be transferred onto the new fender before installation.
