Interior trim — removal and installation Ford F150

Warning: The models covered in this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), more commonly known as air bags. Always disable the airbag system before working in the vicinity of any airbag system component to avoid the possibility of accidental deployment of the airbags, which could cause personal injury (see Chassis electrical system).

Door sill trim

1. The door sill trim is held in place with pressure clips. Starting from an edge, lift up with a quick motion to release the clips.

2. Installation is the reverse of removal. Align the clips to the slots in the frame, and press into place.

A-pillar

3. Remove the trim cover from the assist handle by prying it out with a small screwdriver.

4. Remove the fasteners securing the assist handle to the A-pillar.

5. Pull the A-pillar trim from the A-pillar. (If applicable, disconnect the speaker connections.)

6. Installation is the reverse of removal.

B-pillar — lower trim

7. Move the seat as far forward as possible. Tilt the seat as far forward as possible.

8. Pry the sill plate up with a flat trim tool.

9. Pull the weather stripping from around the area of the B-pillar. (Crew cab models -pull the weather stripping from around the rear doors in the same manner.

10. Disengage the seat belt pretensioner cover from the B-pillar lower section.

11. Starting at the bottom edge, pull outward on the B-pillar trim to release the pressure clips. Keep working your way around until all the clips have come loose.

12. Installation is the reverse of removal.

B-pillar — upper trim

13. Remove the B-pillar lower trim.

14. Remove the seat belt `D’ ring bolt.

15. Starting from the top edge, work your way around pulling the B-pillar trim outward to release the pressure clips.

16. Push upwards on the B-pillar trim as you work the remaining pressure clips free.

17. Installation is the reverse of removal.

C-pillar (Supercab and Supercrew models)

18. Use a flat trim tool to remove the sill plate trim.

19. Pull the door weatherstripping from around the C-pillar area.

20. Remove the bolt securing the seatbelt to the seat.

21. Remove the anchor bolt to the seatbelt.

22. Open the seatbelt cover.

23. Push the seatbelt lower cover to one side as you lift and detach one side of the cover.

24. Perform the same procedure for the opposite side.

25. Remove the seatbelt cover pin from the seatbelt loop.

26. Pull the seatbelt through the seatbelt cover.

27. Starting from the top, pull outward on the C-pillar trim to release the pressure clips. Work your way around and down the full length of the C-pillar to release all of the clips.

28. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Headliner

29. Remove the A-pillar, B-pillar and C-pillars from both sides.

30. Remove both sun visors and sun visor hooks.

31. If equipped, disconnect any electrical connections to the rear view mirror.

32. Remove the garment hooks.

33. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the headliner wire harness (found behind the B-pillar trim)

34. From the outer edges of the headliner, begin to pull (gently) downward to release the clips.

35. Bring the headliner out through a door without bending or folding it.

36. Installation is the reverse of removal. If you are replacing the headliner, transfer the wiring harness from the old one to the new one and secure it in place with adhesive tape.

Rear cab wall trim

37. Remove the B-pillar trim (or C-pillar trim depending on the model).

38. If equipped, move the seat as far forward and tilted as far forward as possible.

39. If equipped, remove the center seatbelt trim cover by pulling upwards on it and slightly to the rear.

40. If equipped, remove the center seatbelt anchor bolt hidden by the trim cover.

41. Pull outwards on the wall trim to release the pressure clips.

42. Remove the rear cab wall trim.

43. Installation is the reverse of removal.
