Steering column covers — removal and installation Ford F150
Warning: The models covered by this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), more commonly known as airbags. Always disable the airbag system before working in the vicinity of any airbag system component to avoid the possibility of accidental deployment of the airbags, which could cause personal injury (see Chassis electrical system).
1. Extend the steering wheel fully and lock it in its lowest position.
2. Release the front cover clips with a screwdriver (see illustration). The left and right side cover clips can be accessed without removing the steering wheel by rotating the steering wheel as necessary.
.2 Disengage the steering column cover clips at each side — steering wheel has been removed for clarity
3. Separate the cover halves, then disengage the clips at the rear of the upper cover and remove the upper cover (see illustration).

4. Remove the fasteners from the lower steering column cover and guide the cover off of the column adjustment lever (see illustrations).

5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
