Bulb removal Fog light

1. Lift and support the front end of the vehicle (if necessary).

2. Locate the fog light bulb socket and disconnect the electrical connector.

3. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove. The defective bulb can then be removed from the socket and replaced.

4. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Front turn signal and marker lights

5. Open the hood and locate the marker bulb at the inside corners of the headlights (see illustration). Twist the bulb socket a counterclockwise and remove the socket. The defective bulb can then be removed from the socket and replaced.

Turn signal bulb

6. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then rotate the wheel towards opposite side.

Note: Turning the wheel towards the opposite side gives better access to the headlight trim panel without having to remove the inner fender liner.

7. Working inside the fenderwell, locate the

trim panel directly behind the headlight housing, then remove the screws and plastic pushpin fasteners and pull the panel out of the way. Note: On models equipped with fender mouldings, remove the two moulding screws, then release the three moulding retainers on the inside of the moulding and move the front section of fender moulding out away from the fender.

8. Twist the bulb socket from the back side of the headlight housing counterclockwise to remove. The defective bulb can then be removed from the socket and replaced (see illustration).

9. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Rear turn signal, brake, tail and back-up lights

10. Open the tailgate.

11. Remove the retaining screws securing the rear taillight housing, then pull the taillight assembly outward to access the taillight bulbs (see illustrations).

12. Twist the bulb socket, then remove the bulb holder from the housing (see illustra tion).

13. The defective bulb can then be removed from the socket and replaced.

14. Installation of the taillight housing is the reverse of removal.

License plate light

15. The license plate light bulbs can be accessed from the rear of the bumper in two ways. The first, carefully pry the light housing out using a flat-bladed screwdriver, then pull the bulb assembly from the bumper. The second is from under the vehicle; locate the bulb holder (see illus tration).

16. Twist the bulb holder 1/4-turn to remove it from the housing. The defective bulb can then be pulled straight out of the socket and replaced.

17. Installation is the reverse of removal.

High-mounted brake light

18. Remove the lens retaining screws and pull the lamp assembly outward to access the bulbs.

19. Twist the bulb socket a quarter turn counterclockwise, then remove the bulb assembly from the housing (see illustration).

20. The defective bulb can then be pulled straight out of the socket and replaced.

Dome, courtesy, map and cargo lights

21. These lights are LED units and are not serviceable.

Outside mirror bulb replacement

22. Rotate mirror glass all the way inward.

23. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver, reach into the outside edge between the mirror and the mirror housing and release the plastic clip by pushing the clip forward.

24. Grasp the lens cover as you apply pressure to the clip so that the lens doesn’t fall.

25. Rotate the lens outward to free the two front tabs.

26. Replace the bulbs by pulling straight out away from the housing.

27. Installation is the reverse of removal Note: On models equipped with puddle lights, pry the light out from the base of the mirror then disconnect the electrical connector and remove the light assembly. The bulb is not serviceable and the light assembly must be replaced as a unit.

Instrument cluster illumination

28. To gain access to the instrument cluster illumination lights, the instrument cluster will have to be removed (see Instrument cluster – removal and installation). The bulbs are fixed into position inside the instrument cluster. Take the instrument cluster to the appropriate repair facility that is equipped to repair the cluster.
