Expansion tank — removal and installation Ford F150

Warning: The engine must be completely cool before beginning this procedure.

1. Drain the cooling system (see Tune-up and routine maintenance) below the level of the expansion tank.

1. Upper hose clamps

2. Using hose clamp pliers, disconnect the clamps and remove the hoses from the ends of the expansion tank (see illustration).

3. Remove the lower hose retaining clip (see illustration) and disconnect the quick-connect hose from the bottom of the expansion tank.

4. Unscrew the expansion tank mounting bolts and remove the expansion tank.

5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

6. Refill the cooling system (see Tune-up and routine maintenance).
