Oil pressure control solenoid — replacement Ford F150

Note: 3.3L and 3.5L non-turbo models are not equipped with an oil pressure control solenoid.

2.7L models

1. Raise and support the front of the vehicle on jackstands.

Note: It may be necessary to remove the engine undercover.

2. The oil pressure control solenoid is located near the crankshaft pulley at the bottom of the engine

3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Remove the retainer bolt and remove the solenoid from the front of the engine.

5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

3.5L turbocharged models

6. The oil pressure control solenoid is located inside of the engine and requires the engine front cover to be removed to access and replace the solenoid. See Engine front cover – removal and installation.

7. Disconnect the electrical connector.

8. Remove the retainer and remove the solenoid from the front of the engine.

9. Installation is reverse of removal.

5.0L models

Note: The oil pressure control solenoid is located on the left side of the engine, near the rear of the alternator.

10. Loosen the left front wheel lug nuts, then raise and support the front of the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheel.

11. Remove the inner fender splash shield (see Body).

12. Locate the oil pressure control solenoid behind the alternator and disconnect the electrical connector.

13. ingRemove the retainer bolt and remove the solenoid from the side of the engine.

14. Installation is reverse of removal.
