Instrument panel switches — replacement Ford F150
Warning: The models covered by this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), more commonly known as airbags. Always disconnect the negative battery cable(s) and wait two minutes before working in the vicinity of any airbag system component to avoid the possibility of accidental deployment of the airbag, which could cause personal injury (see Airbag system – general information) .
Hazard flasher switch
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Battery – disconnection and reconnection).
2. Remove the Front Controls Interface module (FCIM) (see Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) – Front Controls Interface Display Module (FCDIM), Audio Control Module (ACM) – removal and installation).
3. Working on the backside of the FCIM
panel, squeeze the tabs on the hazard flasher switch and pull the switch out from the panel.
4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Headlight/fog light switch and panel dimmer switch
5. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Battery – disconnection and reconnection).
6. Remove the knee bolster panel (see Body).
7. Disconnect the electrical connector (see illustration) from the back of the switch.

8. Press in on the tabs to remove the switch from the knee bolster.
9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
4WD selector switch (MSS — Mode Selector Switch)
10. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Engine electrical systems).
11. Using a trim tool, carefully pry the MSS from the left-side center trim and vent panel.
12. Disconnect the electrical connector to the switch.
13. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Rear defogger switch
14. The rear defogger switch is part of the HVAC control module; see Cooling, heating and air conditioning systems for removal.
Universal Serial Bus (USB) hub
15. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Engine electrical systems).
16. Using a trim tool carefully pry the USB hub trim plate from the center trim panel. Note: On models equipped with a floor console, the USB hub is mounted inside the console enclosure and is removed in the same way as the one mounted in the instrument panel.
17. Disconnect the USB hub electrical connectors (see illustration).

18. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Pro Trailer Backup assist selector switch
19. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Engine electrical systems).
20. Remove Front Controls Interface (FCIM) Module (see Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) – Front Controls Interface Display Module (FCDIM), Audio Control Module (ACM) – removal and installation).
21. Remove the left side center trim panel and HVAC vent panel (see Body).
22. Press in on the two locking tabs and push the control knob out of the trim panel (see illustration).

23. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Sunload sensor
24. Using a small screwdriver or trim tool pry the sensor up and out of the instrument panel (see illustration).

25. Disconnect the electrical connector to the sensor and remove the sensor (see illustration).

26. Installation is the reverse of removal.
In-vehicle temperature and humidity sensor
27. Remove the knee bolster (see Body).
28. Locate the sensor on the back side of the instrument cluster trim panel.
Note: If the sensor is to difficult to access from the back side of the instrument panel, remove the instrument cluster trim panel (see Body).
29. Disconnect the electrical connector (see illustration) to the sensor and unclip the sensor from the instrument panel.
