Intercooler — removal and installation Ford F150
Note: The intercooler is located below the radiator under the front of the vehicle.
1. Raise and support the front of the vehicle on jackstands.
2. Remove the under vehicle cover and/or skid plate (as equipped).
Disconnect the intercooler hoses on the passenger’s side (2.7L model shown)
3. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the two intercooler inlet pipes from the passenger’s (right) side of the intercooler.
Release the clip for the driver’s side pipe (2.7L model shown)
4. Release the clip and disconnect the intercooler outlet pipe from the driver’s (left) side of the intercooler
5. Disconnect the turbocharger bypass valve electrical connector and quick-connect fitting from the intercooler.

6. Remove the two bolts attaching the intercooler bracket to the frame and
remove the intercooler from the vehicle
7. Separate the intercooler from the bracket and remove the turbocharger bypass valve if necessary (see Turbocharger bypass valve – replacement).
8. Installation is reverse of removal.
